Residual heat & heating networks

The heat transition is in full swing in the Netherlands from a policy perspective. To meet the climate targets for 2030 and 2050, all municipalities have drawn up a Heat Transition Vision. This outlines the first steps toward a natural gas-free Netherlands. Due to rapidly rising natural gas prices, it is becoming increasingly attractive for residents to disconnect from the gas grid. However, sustainable heat sources are scarce and highly dependent on local conditions. Heat networks offer a promising solution.

Low-grade residual heat from refrigeration systems, supplemented with heat pumps, can be effectively used for the transition.The heat that cooling towers release into the outside air can be put to good use. Refrigeration systems are capital-intensive machines with high reliability and are connected to the electricity grid, which helps limit congestion issues.

Feasibility study

Sparkling Projects provides comprehensive support in the heat transition. We conduct feasibility studies and design residual heat and heat networks.
