All about subsidies for sustainable projects

FLEX-E

The Flex-E subsidy is a scheme of the Dutch government that supports companies in making their electricity consumption more flexible, with the aim of reducing the impact of grid congestion and contributing to a more stable and sustainable energy grid.

The scheme provides financial support for three specific components:

  1. Flexibility scan: An analysis that provides insight into the possibilities for making electricity consumption more flexible.

    • Subsidy: 50% of the costs, with a maximum of €10,000.

  2. Feasibility study: An in-depth investigation into the technical and economic feasibility of the identified flexibility measures.

    • Subsidy: 50% of the costs, with a maximum of €125,000.

  3. Realisation of flexibility measures: The implementation of concrete measures such as energy storage or smart control systems.

    • Subsidy: 35% of the investment costs, with a maximum of €300,000.

Who is subject to the EED audit obligation?
The subsidy is intended for companies and institutions that:

  • Have a contracted transport capacity of at least 100 kW.

  • Be located in an area where the grid operator has declared consumption congestion.

Sparkling Projects can provide support for:

  • Carrying out flexibility scans and feasibility studies.

  • Supervising the subsidy application and meeting the conditions set.

  • The implementation of flexibility measures, including project management and technical support.
